BiB - Ariel in Denim Skortalls with Locking Buckles
In my collection there are several pairs of skortalls. Perhaps I like them because they don't seem that confining because of the skirt, but in the end they are with the shorts underneath.
This pair from Jordache is rather special because it zips up the back. That gave me a nice starting point to make them inescapable: I bought buckles that are normally used on purses, which can be locked with a 2-pronged key, and attached them to the straps and the bib. I left the original overalls buckles and buttons intact for variety, but of course used the locking pair on Ariel. She managed to get the bit on the left strap partly loose, but after an emergency repair it was safe once more. (See also securing the strap fastenings, at the bottom.)
At the back I added a connection of strong thread just above the zipper, so that even if she would get the zipper down, the straps were still connected high enough to prevent them from being pulled over her shoulders. The connection also served as an attachment point for a small lock through the zipper pull. (See also securing the waist fastening of overalls.)
